Have you ever wondered why so many women fall in love with their profile shot after being photographed? Nashville boudoir photo tip: Show us your left cheek! :)

Okay, so today we're having a bit of play on words. We're not talking about THAT left cheek. We're talking about the lovely left side of your face. Did you know there's scientific reasoning behind leading with your left cheek when it comes to taking better photos? According to the journal Experimental Brain Research, 37 people who participated in a study found that photos capturing the left side of faces were significantly more appealing. In honor of this study, we're featuring some of our bombshells who have led with the left! Happy Friday, friends! See you next week! 🙂

Need an energy boost?

So, the Bombshell Creative team just returned from a fabulous Asian-inspired lunch break...and now we're each in a food coma. Does this happen to you?! We're a busy crew, so there's no time for low energy. We just found these fabulous tips from Women's Health magazine and wanted to share with you: 1) Turn it up! Play some high-energy, fast-paced tunes in the background. If you're listening to acoustic, classical or slow-paced music...pump up the jams! 2) Use the "breath of fire". Take a few hints from this yogic breathing practice.  Click here to read the full details. 3) Be inspired with uplifting thoughts. Positive messages will not wear you down, however, negative ones will. Think happy thoughts and watch your energy soar! 🙂

Reflecting on a lost star…

Our world lost an incredible star this past week. Whitney Houston's unmistakable voice earned her more than 400 awards throughout her lifetime. Today's post, however, is all about her glittering, show-stopping style. Houston knew how to command the stage and knew how to wow a crowd - both definite bombshell-worthy traits. What was your favorite Whitney look?

We’re inspired by Nike’s mission statement

I recently had the pleasure of hearing Guy Kawasaki speak at Belmont University. If you don't know who he is, you should. 🙂 He worked for Apple for several years, has written 10 books and is a co-founder of Alltop.com, an "online magazine rack" of popular topics on the web. During his presentation, he shared Nike's mission statement and I HAD to share it with you: How powerful is this?! This is what we preach in our studio and I hope you never forget you are SO much more than a number or series of numbers.

Beauty = not perfect

I get a variety of responses when I tell people I run a boudoir photography business. These reactions range from... "Wow, that's really fabulous! Tell me more!" to "Are you serious? Why would you want to do that?" (And then this person usually looks at me, concerned, as if it's too risque to be talking about.) Since Bombshell Creative was launched in 2009, I've had to develop a strong vision for this company.  My goal with Bombshell Creative is to empower women to embrace their femininity, love who they are inside and out and, ultimately, educate the world so we can change the perception of boudoir photography. Many women tell me they could never "do something like this". That they're overweight, too old, too much of this and not enough of that. And to me, that's simply absurd. We've been brainwashed to believe that beauty is a certain hair color, bra size, weight, height, age, style, etc. It's just not true. Beauty is all around us and every woman is beautiful. And that's my mission. To make every woman see how beautiful she truly is. To get me closer to this mission, I've developed the "I am beautiful" campaign. I'll have more details to share soon. Be on the lookout for the Bombshell Creative team...that's all I can say for now. 🙂 So the lesson for today is to LOVE who you are. Beauty is not perfect...although the world tries to tell us otherwise. Every unique aspect of your personality, your background, style and so on, is what makes you who you are...and that is beautiful.
